Ukulele Crash Workshop for Beginners
Days and Time: Friday, 5/10 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm
Location: Brookline Ballet School

Course Discription:This is a perfect workshop if you are looking to kickstart your ukulele journey this year. Learn How to Strum Ukulele and Celebrate Spring! Open to kids and adults. FREE to one accompanying parent or grandparent. Ukulele rental is also available.
4-Week Ukulele Course for Beginners
Days and Time: 4 Fridays, 5/17-6/14 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm (no session on 5/24)
Location: Brookline Ballet School

Course Discription:
The first session will cover some basic chords and strumming patterns. The course is most effective if you keep your ukulele tuned and play music for around ten to fifteen minutes everyday.
At the end of the sessions, you will be able to play a variety of contemporary songs and classic songs with your friends and family. You will have a strong enough knowledge to read chord progressions and tablature and be able to learn new songs on your own.
The goal of the class is to provide you with enough basic knowledge to allow you to play and sing music with your family and friends and have fun playing music.
The following material will be covered in this course:
- How to tune the instrument
- How to play and strum a variety of chords
- How to play songs and chord progressions
- How to play melodies and scales
- How to read tablature
4-Week Ukulele Course for Youth and Family


Days and Time: 4 Sundays, 6/2-6/23 from 3 pm to 3:45 pm
Location: United Church in Brookline- 210 HARVARD ST. (In Coolidge Corner)

We are thrilled to offer our ukulele course for youth and family! This course is a group, beginner ukulele class for children and youth as young as from 5 years old and family.
The ukulele has gained tremendous popularity as a first instrument due to its size, portability, and ease in learning. Attendees will learn how to tune the ukulele (young children with their parent’s help), play basic chords and strumming patterns and play simple songs.
Classes are 45-minutes long (one accompanying parent and grandparent can join for free of charge) and meet once weekly for 4 weeks. Each attendee can bring a ukulele and an electronic tuner to each class or can rent from the instructor.
Instructor: Mike Weidenfeller
Mike Weidenfeller has been performing and teaching on a variety of instruments for over 20 years. Has a Masters of Music from the Longy School of Music at Bard College and a Bachelors of Music from the Berklee College of Music. Since 2011, he has been teaching at Dana Hall in Wellesley. In addition to ukulele, he regularly performs solo jazz piano and guitar and plays with the bands Babaloo and Bella Lu
